McNamee Hosea hosts the Honorable Judge Sidney Butcher for a 'Chambers Chat'
In April, McNamee Hosea hosted members of the Bar who gathered for an informal discussion with the Honorable Sidney Butcher, who spoke about a variety of topics, provided valuable advice, and answered questions of young lawyers about appearing in court and dealing with the hurdles lawyers face when representing their clients. The firm was selected on behalf of the James C. Cawood, Jr. Inns of Court, where Partner, John P. Lynch is a member of the Board of Trustees and former President.
The Hon. Sidney Butcher is an associate judge for the Seventh District Court in Anne Arundel County, Maryland. He was appointed to the court in 2018, by Gov. Larry Hogan. At the time of his appointment, Butcher had worked as an attorney with the Office of the Attorney General. Prior to this position, he previously worked as counsel in the White-Collar Group at Whiteford Taylor Preston LLP and as a prosecutor in the Baltimore City State’s Attorney’s Office for a decade. Judge Butcher is also a former member of the Anne Arundel County Board of Education in Maryland, representing General Assembly District 32. He received his undergraduate education from Florida A&M University and his Juris Doctor from the University of Kansas School of Law.
Chambers Chat is a unique opportunity to discuss a wide range of topics related to the practice of law in an informal, open forum, “off-the-record” format with members of the bench.
