Partner, Lindsey K. Erdmann

McNamee Hosea is proud to announce the Magistrate Appointment of Lindsey K. Erdmann, in Prince George's County. In Prince George's County, Magistrates hear matters involving child custody, child support, divorce, alimony, and a variety of juvenile matters, including matters involving children in need of assistance. After a hearing, a Magistrate submits a Report and Recommendations for the issuance of a proposed Order by a judge of the Circuit Court. Judges of the Circuit Court appoint Magistrates, lawyers specializing in family law, to help resolve certain types of Family Division cases more efficiently.

Before joining McNamee Hosea in 2011, Ms. Erdmann was an associate at Knight, Manzi, Nussbaum, and LaPlaca, P.A.. Upon her arrival, Lindsey created and ran the Family Law Practice Area at the firm, focusing on all aspects of family law including divorce, custody and visitation, child support, spousal support and alimony, prenuptial and separation agreements, and adoption. Ms. Erdmann was extremely dedicated to her clients and she treated every case as if it was her only case. In addition to her family law work, Erdmann Lindsey assisted in estate and trust planning and administration cases. Lindsey was named Principal in September 2020.

Ms. Erdmann has been honored for her legal work, having been named a Maryland Super Lawyer each year since 2019 and before that, a Maryland Rising Star from 2011 to 2018. She also was named a Leading lawyer in the family law category in “What’s Up? Annapolis” Magazine in 2022. In 2020, Ms. Erdmann was presented with the John Carroll Society Pro Bono Legal Service Award, given to her by Cardinal Wilton D. Gregory at the annual Red Mass.

Lindsey has served with distinction in a variety of positions in state and local bar associations. She is a former member of the Section Council of Family and Juvenile Law for the Maryland State Bar Association, where she chaired several committees. Lindsey is a prior Chair of the Family Law Committee of the Prince George’s County Bar Association. She is a former member of the Board of Directors for the Women’s Bar Association of Maryland and a past president of the Prince George’s County Chapter. Lindsey is also a past president of the Board of Directors of Community Legal Services of Prince George’s County, Inc., where she continues to serve on the Board. Lindsey is a frequent lecturer and program coordinator for continuing legal education opportunities and regularly writes for various legal publications.

Ms. Erdmann graduated from the University of Delaware and the University of Maryland School of Law. She served as the judicial law clerk for the Honorable Julia B. Weatherly in the Circuit Court for Prince George’s County.

"We are very excited for Lindsey and know she will be an outstanding Magistrate and serve the people of Prince George’s County and Maryland with distinction. We are truly thankful for Lindsey’s time at the firm. She has been an outstanding representative of the firm, a skilled practitioner and advocate, and a great friend to all of her colleagues. We will truly miss her," said Brent Ahalt, Managing Partner.
